Discussion 16: about discussion 13 (re: 4th of July).

I noticed that most of you responded to the notion of the secret of PERSONAL SUCCESS in America.

Maybe I should have been more explicit:
I meant to question whether AMERICA'S SUCCESS is the result of the transformation that Pascal experienced, the transformation that led him ("taught him?") to have faith in himself, and the dominant attitude of all immigrants who make it.

Is this the secret of America's success?
Will it still be the case for the foreseeable future?

  1. Yes, I do believe this is what makes America successful. Immigrants have it a lot harder and when their struggles led to success of finally making it they are proud. They feel they finally made it and are finally accepted as an American. This will always be the case because there are people immigrating everyday to America working minimum wages who will work on obtaining the American dream.

  2. I do think that is what makes America's success. Most people immigrate to America to have a better life. Once here, I’m sure pascal and others realized it would take more work to be successful. this will be the case in the future because immigrants will always struggle to get ahead due to not having the help. they will soon learn to be patient and have faith.

  3. I believe that this is the reason for America's success. Once we all have faith in ourselves, we are able to succeed and grow. I think that this definitely applies to the immigrants. Once they realize they can make it, they are able to fly, so to speak. This is what makes America what it is- a success. People come here from all over the world to make it as something. It is because of people like Pascal that America is amazing- you can do anything you want here.

That is what makes an America so great it the land of hopes and dreams if not for you then for you offsprings America is the place that if you just try put in that work anything can happen but you have to work for it. So when it came to the foreseeable future this hope of America the great will always stand because this is the country of hope.
